Gambler's Pistol Pete
Gambler’s Pistol Pete is a handsome medium brown
chocolate gelding with a lovely long flaxen mane, tail and forelock. Pete is 3
yrs old – born on 3/28/2005. In Nov. 2008 he was 14.3 hands.
This good-looking boy is from old foundation bloodlines. Pete is 25% Tobe. His sire is Menifee Mountain Gambler and his dam is Johnson’s High I.Q. Johnson’s Tobe, out of Kilburns Chocolate Sundown, is on both the sire's and dam’s side. His lineage also includes Buddy Roe. Pete is the half brother of Fearless, the 2005 Rocky Mountain International Champion.

Pete (May 2008)
Pete was a real pistol when he was born, hence his name
Pistol Pete. He has since turned into a big teddy bear who loves to be
scratched and groomed. He is a stocky and well built colt who will provide many
pleasurable hours of trail-riding and just being your buddy. Pete, like
the typical Rocky
Mountain horse,
has an easy natural gait and a great personality (we would give him a 3 on the
temperament scale, 1 being the most laid back and 10 the least). In the
pasture Pete has a presence about himself that lets everyone around know that
he’s there.
Pete is well into his ground training. He trailer-loads, leads, walks over obstacles and bridges, and gaits both on a lead line and at liberty. He has also been introduced to both lateral and vertical flexing. He has been sacked out with hands, ropes, and horse blankets, and has had ropes tangled around his legs and feet. Pete is currently being introduced to the saddle. Shortly after he is under saddle, he will begin trail work.
Pete is dual registered with both the Rocky Mountain Horse Association (RMHA) and Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse Association (KMSHA). Pete is current with Coggins, shots and wormings.
Pete's current price is $4500, with anticipated increases as he goes under saddle and starts to be ridden.
